Majestic stance, a familiar glance

Soft fur and velvety paws,

Climbing a tree or curled up on your knee

Watch out for hidden claws.

Stalking at night, hidden from sight

Listening to nocturnal sounds,

A creature of moods, but when it’s time for food

You will always be around.

You groom with care, but disturb  if you dare

Quite fastidious, cunning and smart

A curious blend, but a companion and friend

For you there’s a place in my heart.
