Pugs originated in China dating back to B.C.200. They were prized by the emperors of China and lived a luxurious life.

They were brought to Europe in the early 1600’s by Dutch traders who named them “Mopshond” which is still used today.

Queen Victoria had many Pugs preferring the fawn colour whereas others made the black Pug fashionable.

Pugs are often described as a lot of dog in a small space.

They are happy and affectionate; loyal and charming; playful and mischievous; love to be the centre of attention and are very upset if they are ignored.
