Cockapoo

The Cockapoo is one of the more established crossbreeds, consisting of the Cocker Spaniel and the Toy or Miniature Poodle. Cockapoo puppies, as well as mature ones are friendly, sweet, and basically one of the happiest breeds you’ll come across.
The Cockapoo has a lifespan of anywhere from 12-15 years generally.
As there are different types of Cockapoo dogs, they can vary in appearance depending on if they are a first cross or if they have been bred with other Cockapoos. Usually, their coats have a spotted pattern and come in golden or brown, or any combinations of black, white, liver, red, blue, or orange. Regardless of colour, they all look like adorable little teddy bears.
Looking at the two breeds that make up the Cockapoo, this is an active dog who needs a lot of exercise and needs to be a part of the family. When the crossbreeding turns out as expected, the Cockapoo possesses all of the intelligence of the Poodle with the spirit of the Cocker Spaniel, resulting in a wonderful companion.
Regular brushing is needed to avoid the ‘feathered’ hair on their belly and legs becoming matted. They benefit from professional trimming, particularly around the eyes to increase their range of sight.
A mix between the moderate shedding Cocker Spaniel and the low shedding Poodle, the Cockapoo’s level of shedding depends on which parent it most takes after. However, in general, Cockapoos are considered a low to no shedding breed.
