The breed was developed in the nineteenth century by “Parson Jack Russell”, a Devon clergyman, who also gave it his name. Physically its appearance varies widely.

 

Like many small terriers it has been used as an exterminator of vermin, and for small game hunting.

 

It is a favourite amongst horse owners, dog sport enthusiasts and people who appreciate the fearless personality, boundless energy, entertaining antics and its small size.
